Le pont du Carroussel

I couldn't stay away.

Here are a variety of views of Le pont du Carroussel, the bridge that crosses the Seine from the Left Bank to the Right where the Tuileries Gardens and the Louvre meet.

Click on images for larger views.

Rauf, the bridge site I embedded says: "When the first bridge was being built at this location it was called the 'Pont des Saintes Pères,' but when it was opened in 1834 it had already been renamed the 'Pont du Caroussel.' Constructed flimsily of wood and cast iron, it soon proved unsuitable for heavy traffic. So the existing bridge was built (1935-1939) and moved some fifty meters downstream to provide direct access to what at that time were passageways leading to the Louvre."
